The OUSD Family Engagement Toolkit is designed to help school leadership teams engage with families to promote student achievement and school improvement. It includes tools and resources aligned with OUSD’s six Standards for Meaningful Family Engagement, as well as resources for measuring engagement, coordinating family-school partnerships, and supporting equity in the relationship between families and schools. The Toolkit is a critical piece of OUSD’s strategy to build systemic family engagement in Oakland (Click here to learn more about our theory of action and programs and services for family engagement.)
The OUSD Family Engagement Toolkit is an ongoing collaborative project among Oakland schools, families, community members, district offices, and community based organizations. Together, we develop and contribute content that encourages meaningful family engagement in OUSD. If you have content you think would be useful in this toolkit, we encourage you to submit it here.
This Toolkit was made possible with the generous support of the Zellerbach Family Foundation. We thank the Foundation for supporting our efforts to build systemic family engagement that improves Oakland schools and helps prepare every Oakland student for success in college, career, and life.
